Raptors hobble into Atlanta

Toronto Raptors Atlanta Hawks

Over the last 13 games, the Hawks have won every home game and lost every road game. That stat doesn’t bode well for the injury-ridden Raptors. Hedo Turkoglu is expected to play tonight wearing a mask after suffering a non-displaced fracture in the Boston game. While the Raps try to overcome the odds and beat the Hawks at home, the Bulls are in Jersey tonight. Both teams are tied in the standings and if things go as expected tonight, Sunday’s game will likely determine whether Toronto sees any postseason action or not.

Raps looking to gang up on Celtics

Boston Celtics Toronto Raptors

It’s going to be a tough night for the Raptors. They get to play the Celtics on the second night of a back to back after playing Cleveland last night and they’ll have to do it without Bosh who’s out indefinitely with fractures in the right side of his face. The Raps never established a pecking order outside of Bosh being the first option. Some nights it’s Bargnani, other nights it’s Jack. The consistency has never been there for it to work itself out. Without Bosh, everyone will have to step up if they want to have a shot at beating Boston.

First round preview

Toronto Raptors Cleveland Cavaliers

The Raptors are in Cleveland tonight for what could be a potential first round matchup. The Cavs are locked into the first seed and will likely rest their starters for the final five games in preparation for the playoffs. Toronto on the other hand is racing to the finish line trying to keep ahead of the Bulls who are a game and half back in the standings. The Raps have to hope that coach Brown decides to limit James’ minutes especially in the fourth because it doesn’t get any easier after this game with the Celtics and Hawks looming this week.

Raptors hope to avoid record setting night

Golden State Warriors Toronto Raptors

The Warriors will be going for their 23rd win of the season tonight which would give their coach Don Nelson 1,332 victories in his career. The next win after that would make him the all time winningest coach in NBA history. With games coming up against Washington and Minnesota, Lenny Wilkens’ record is sure to fall this season. The Raptors however have the playoffs on their minds and will probably be reluctant to accommodate Nelson. With games coming up against the Cavs, Celtics, Hawks and Bulls, Toronto can’t afford to lose any games against the lesser lights of the league.
