The Washington Wizards come into town riding a two game winning streak and full of energy after making over the team with two big trades that sent Antawn Jamison to Cleveland and Caron Butler and Brendan Haywood to Dallas. These moves have allowed the Wizards to move Andray Blatche into the starting lineup and he responded by averaging 25pts and 12rbs against Denver and Minnesota.

The Raptors will have to find a way to slow the Wizards down without Bosh in the lineup once again. Rasho Nesterovic started in place of Bosh last night but he may not be the best choice against Washington whose big men are more mobile than those of the Nets. Either way, the Raptors will have to find some energy in the second game of a back to back to defend the home court.

The New Jersey Nets came into Toronto on February 3 and played well late into the game until the Raptors put it away with some timely defense and shot-making. Tonight, the Raptors will try to replicate the feat on the road except they’ll have to do it without the services of their all-star Chris Bosh. Bosh stayed in Toronto to get his ankle sprain checked and treated. He’ll probably sit out against the Wizards tomorrow as well. This will give the fans a good opportunity to see what the offence looks like without their primary scorer. What kind of adjustments will Jay make and who’s going to step up to try and fill Bosh’s sizeable shoes.

The Memphis Grizzlies and the Toronto Raptors face each other for the second and final time this season. The last time they met, Memphis brought Toronto back down to Earth after a surprising season opening victory against the Cavs. The Grizzlies have been a Cinderella story for most of the year by staying in the playoff hunt in the west after years of futility. A five game losing streak has them looking up at the playoff race but they’re not far behind. With an athletic starting five led by all-star Zach Randolph, they present a real challenge for most teams. The Raptors are hoping they can continue their strong play and take advantage of the Grizzlies who are probably tired after last night’s loss to the Suns.

The Raptors and Sixers last met on January 8 and the Raps came away with a hard fought road win after Bosh got the winning bucket in the final seconds of the game. Both teams have played well since that meeting and Philadelphia is in the midst of a five game winning streak. Most of those wins have come without Iverson in the lineup who’s taking care of family issues and is expected to return after the break. The winning streak is also impressive because it’s happening while rumours of Iguodala being traded have hit a fever pitch.

Former 76er Reggie Evans is set to make his regular season debut tonight. He was brought in to provide some much needed toughness on the defensive end and rebound the ball, two things Amir Johnson has done very well since the start of the season. It will interesting to watch how Triano uses four bigs in the lineup on a regular basis.
