The Raptors are in Detroit to take on the Pistons who are sitting in last place in the Central Division and in the running for a top five pick in the draft. It’s a far cry from where Joe Dumars expected the team to finish after bringing over Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva in an attempt to revitalize the franchise. The Pistons have suffered various injuries to most of the starting lineup throughout the season and never really got a chance to get in a groove. Dumars doesn’t have a lot of cap space to play with but he does have Tayshaun Prince’s $11 million expiring contract and a high draft pick to reload and come back strong next year.

Both teams are tied in the standings and if things go as expected tonight, Sunday’s game will likely determine whether Toronto sees any postseason action or not.

The Cavs are locked into the first seed and will likely rest their starters for the final five games in preparation for the playoffs. What could make this a trap game is the number of injuries Philadelphia is dealing with. Thaddeus Young, Lou Williams and Rodney Carney are all questionable for today’s game. Andre Iguodala is also dealing with plantar fasciitis but he’s determined to keep his iron man streak alive for the third consecutive year. Every game for the Raps is critical now with only eight games left in the season and the Chicago Bulls only 1.5 games back in the standings, there’s no room for a letdown.
