Another big game tonight against the Charlotte Bobcats who are just ahead of the Raptors in the standings. Charlotte is a very good team at home with a record of 27-8 and that’s something the Raptors will have to overcome if they want to stay ahead of the Bulls. Hedo should be back in the lineup and with all the controversy surrounding his off-court behaviour, will he finally be able to deliver on the promise of his contract as the Raptors close out the season.

The Raptors and Bobcats last met in Charlotte on November 25. Toronto lost that game by 35 points starting a downward slide that culminated in the drubbing by the Hawks in Atlanta. The Raptors had a chance to avenge the Hawks loss nine days later at home but they were unable to do so. The wait for the chance to make up for the loss in Charlotte was longer but it’s finally here and the players are looking for a different outcome.

Bobcats head coach Larry Brown is notorious for his aversion to rookies and his tendency to ride his starters. That was before the Bobcats’ easy victory over the Pacers last Sunday. Brown gave significant minutes to the bench and was rewarded with solid play especially from his 2nd round pick Derrick Brown who chipped in 13pts. After the game, coach Brown said he will start resting his starters more in order to develop his bench.

Just in time to go up against the Raptors’ talented second squad. Jarret Jack has put his terrible start to the season behind him and is playing the kind of basketball we all expected when he was signed as a free agent. He’s not alone with Belinelli and Amir Johnson providing some much needed scoring and hustle off the bench. Let the battle begin.
