Timberwolves looking to end losing streak
Even though the Timberwolves have lost 12 in a row, they’re going into tonight’s game against the Raptors with some optimism. Minnesota is coming off an 8 point loss to the Lakers in L.A. where the main players for the Wolves performed well. If the momentum from that game carries over, the Raptors will have a very difficult task of trying to get a rare road win.

Nets trying to stay out of the history books
The Raptors’ next two games are against the two worst teams in the league. They’re in New Jersey tonight and they’ll be in Minnesota on Monday. It’s a good opportunity to get a couple of wins and try to move up in the standings. Despite their poor play of late, Toronto is only 1.5 games behind sixth place Charlotte. Meanwhile, the Nets have 15 games left to try and get 3 wins which will move them ahead of the 72-73 Philadelphia 76ers who went 9-73 for the season. The last thing the Raptors need at this point is for one of those wins to come against them.

Thunder to face a different Raps team with Bosh back
Durant’s team had won five straight before losing to the Bobcats on Wednesday. His team is expecting him to bounce back after a poor shooting night where he went 9-26 from the field and missed all 7 of his three point attempts. Like the Raptors, the Thunder are scoreboard watching after every game. They’re tied for fifth in the West with Phoenix and only a game and a half ahead of eighth-place Portland.
The last time the Raptors played the Thunder, six players from OKC scored in double figures and the Raps were never really in it. That was during the stretch of games without Bosh in the lineup. Now that the Raps have their go to guy back and with each game getting closer to the player he was before the all-star break, Toronto should be able to present a challenge to the playoff-bound Thunder.
